today i went and bought all kind of stuff to start the project... including a mixer, various kinds of glue , drums and tubs to store all the raw material.so tonight i will tear them apart n soak it in water till Tuesday so that the fibers loosen up .
the two kinds of glue bought today were:
- SH fevicol used for industrial purpose and heavy duty things
- silicone which is primarily used for glass ceramic and some metals.
i was planning to buy rubber adhesive but did not make sense to mix it up with paper as it has completely different properties as oppose to fevicol and transparent glue.
when you start looking into it ....
While making the pulp out of news paper, two things came into notice
- first the amount of water which is being wasted in the process. so in order to see how can i make it sustainable and reuse the water without wasting it, i decided to reuse the same water for dipping the paper twice and will try to use rain water as its raining so much ... so why not try n use it .
- I don't need to waste time in tearing the paper into small pieces. this happened by accident. there was a news paper lying next to my bed which i accidentally threw into the tub of torn paper, and the next day while churning it in the mixer it gave the same texture as the torn paper did. So from next time any one making paper pulp can save time by putting the entire paper at once into the waste.
and also all kind of news paper(times of India/ Hindu/Bangalore times) can be mixed together to make the pulp as there is no difference after making the pulp.
